Painted with acrylics, the canvas for this piece is hand-dyed, delicately ruffle-edged paper.  I think poppies are the happiest flower, bright and open and always waving in the slightest breeze that comes along.  This painting is a little bit moodier take on the vibrant natural colors of the poppy.
